First, I want to start by saying welcome! I am so excited and thankful that you are taking the time out of your day to read my little space on the internet. I hope it brings you as much joy as it has for me. Second, writing about yourself is really hard! I always thought I would know what to write when I got to this part, but I am clueless. So bare with me as I try to introduce myself and explain a little about what I hope to accomplish with this blog.
My name
is Mary Ashton. Yes, Ashton is my middle name but I go by my first and middle
name. In fact, most people shorten it to just M.A. but I secretly love when
people call me Mary Ashton. My mom always says she should have named me Grace.
I have no idea why! Ha! I am first and most importantly a child of the King. I
love Jesus with my whole heart and try to serve Him but fail every single day.
I am so thankful that He forgives me and loves me for me. The sole reason behind this blog is to relate
to others in order to share the message of Christ. I am nothing without Him! I
live in Smackover, AR and have a wonderful circle of family and friends that
support me so well. I am very shy at first but once you get to know me I am an
open book. I am best friends with my grandparents and I wouldn’t have it any
other way. I currently work at Bravo Dance Centre’ in El Dorado, Ar. I have
taken dance there since I was three years old. I love being around kids and
having the opportunity to teach them something that is so dear to my heart. I
am also an accountant at a local company here in El Dorado. If you had asked me
as a senior in high school what I was going to be in life an accountant would
not have been my answer but I have found it to be quite interesting.
Some
things I enjoy most are being around my family and friends. Just the simple
fact of being around people I like is good for me. I love to cook and try new
recipes. Some are delicious and some are complete fails but I always have fun
in the making. I love being outside except for when it is cold. I am a summer
person but cuddling around the fire isn’t too bad either. Anything to do around
water I am completely about. Fishing, water skiing, laying on the beach…. I
love being around water! My favorite thing to do is be on the lake and watch
the sunset. I am a sucker for them. I am the person that pulls over on the side
of the road just to take a picture of the sunset. It blows my mind how God can
create something so beautiful! I am a
die hard Razorback fan. Win or loose I am still a fan. Trust me, I know how to
loose! And last but not least I am a list person. Seriously, I make a list for
everything. Anything else you want to know about me…. well you will just have
to ask!
Some of
these posts you may love and some you may hate. My desire is to share some of
my life with you in hopes of drawing you and myself closer to Christ by
building a relationship. I pray that I am always striving to give you content that is honest and open. I will fail and I will succeed but most importantly I
am trying. I’ve wanted to do this for almost a year now and I have finally
decided to take it on! Like I said in the beginning, THANK YOU! This would be
nothing but words in my head if it was not for you. You are fearfully and wonderfully
made. I hope that you are following your dreams and whatever God has laid on
your heart. If not, today is a great day to start! If you have any suggestions
or comments or just need someone to talk to I am a great listener. I hope you
